①The selection of mold materials must not only meet the customer's requirements for product quality, but also consider the cost of the material and its strength within the set period. Of course, it must also be based on the type of mold, working method, processing speed, and main failure. Factors such as form to select materials. For example: the main failure mode of the punching die is the wear of the cutting edge, it is necessary to choose a material with high surface hardness and good wear resistance; the stamping die is mainly subjected to periodic loads, which is easy to cause surface fatigue cracks and cause the surface to peel off, then choose Materials with good surface toughness; drawing molds should choose materials with particularly low friction coefficient; die-casting molds should be selected from materials with strong thermal fatigue due to cyclic thermal stress; for injection molds, when the plastic parts are ABS, PP, PC For such materials, the mold material can choose pre-hardened quenched and tempered steel. When the plastic parts are high-finish and transparent materials, they can choose corrosion-resistant stainless steel. When the products are large in batches, they can choose quenched and tempered steel. In addition, it is necessary to consider the use of mold materials with less affinity with the parts to prevent mold sticking from aggravating the wear of mold parts, thereby affecting the quality of molds.

② When designing the mold structure, try to be as compact as possible and easy to operate, and ensure that the mold parts have sufficient strength and rigidity; when the mold structure allows, the corners of the mold parts should be designed as rounded transitions as much as possible to avoid stress concentration ; For concave molds, cavities and some punches and cores, combined or inlaid structures can be used to eliminate stress concentration. For slender punches or cores, appropriate protective measures must be taken in the structure; for cold stamping dies, should Equipped with devices (such as ejector pins, compressed air, etc.) to prevent clogging of parts or waste. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider how to reduce the impact on mold quality caused by the wear of sliding fittings and frequent impact parts during long-term use.

③In the design, it is necessary to reduce the scope of disassembly and assembly when repairing a certain part, especially when replacing vulnerable parts, as far as possible to reduce the scope of disassembly and assembly.
