Manual ejection is selected if a simple and inexpensive mold is to be deisgned, for example, when a samll number of workpieces is produced, Fig 6.25 showns an example. This method is often used for compression molds when the pressing machine has o ejection system.
Operation: follwing solidification of the polymer material and opening of the mold, the object sits on the core. The manual ejector fork 4 turns around fixed pin 3 and the lifting pin 8 raises when the hand is moving down.Plate 5 and 6 pulls ejector pin 2 that forces stripper plate 1, and the workpiece is therfore stripped from the punch or core pins. The lifting height is limited when manual ejection is used.
Advantage: simple configuration and inexpensive mold.
Disadvantage: the movement distance of stripping must not be long.
In most case the ejector plates are actuated with ejector pins. Fig 6.26 shows a simple mold functioning with a stripper plate 1. During ejection, a support plate 5 fixed to the ejector bar 3 engages the stop bar of the machine and lifts the ejector plate 1 (Fig 6.26b). When the mold is colsed, the ejector plate 1 is returned to their initial position by a coil spring 4(Fig 6.26a)
