2. Sector gate: The gate gradually becomes larger in the direction from the runner to the cavity, showing a fan shape. This type of gate is suitable for slender or flat products because it reduces flow marks and directional stress. The angle of the sector depends on the shape of the product. The cross-sectional area of the gate must be smaller than the cross-sectional area of the runner.
3. Point gate: The cross-sectional area of this gate is as small as the pin. It is usually used in plastic materials with excellent fluidity. Generally, the length of the gate is not greater than its diameter, and it is widely used in the production of cover plates, shells and large-area products. The advantage is that the gate is automatically removed from the molded part and the gate trace is small. The disadvantage is that the small gate may cause pressure loss and cause some injection molding defects (flow marks, burn marks, black spots, etc.) during the production process.
4. Side gate: Usually located on one side of the product. The gate is usually designed on the parting surface. The plastic melt fills the cavity from the inside or outside, and the cross section is mostly rectangular, and the shear rate of the melt and the solidification time of the gate can be adjusted by changing the width and thickness of the gate.
